LOL...I've never overclocked a system in my life...I'm just taking the word for what most guys tell me :D

Besides, what would I need an O/C system for? I don't play games like UT or Quake...

I'm an RTS fan. There is only one game on planet earth that I am worried about. And that is the best RTS game that will revolutionize the entire RTS gaming world. According to most reviews, it will be even better than Warcraft III!

And the name of it is:

Empire Earth!

If you've never heard of that game, well, let me put it this way. It was rated as the best RTS game at E3 and it is sooo popular. Made by Stainless Steel Studios, Rick Goodman, president of SSS broke away from Ensemble Studios in which is brother Tony Goodman is president of. Rick Goodman started his own company in Boston and now has been working with a good team on Empire Earth for over 3 years already! It will be released this September, and according to the strike team that flew down there and got to play the game, they said they were just blown away! It is the hugest scope RTS game ever...with so many options, game play value, graphics...etc!

Check out these two top sites on the game:

Empire Earth Heaven

Empire Earth Command Center

most people don't oc for performance, they do it for fun, if you ever oc/ed yourself you'll know. Also it has a performance increase on some processors, if you OC 10%, there won't be much of a difference, but if you OC 50%(1GHz to 1.5GHz) Tell me you won't notice a difference :)

You might be able to speed up those RTSs a bit by overclocking. Anyway, go for the copper bottomed TaiSol. It is the CGK 76 something

you should read more articles...they will tell you which to get...thermaltake isn't a good brand to buy Heatsink fans for your high end CPU

I've been searching through sites and I can't seem to find that Taisol CGK 760...with the copper bottom on it anywhere...

Could you guys provide me at least the links to where you bought yours, or where you would buy it?

Thanx.

Thank you wasnlos! I'm glad you told me that, because that's what I'm looking for; a quiet fan. I can't believe these guys are trying to get me to buy a noisy Taisol Copper bottom fan...

Well, since that's out of the picture, do you recommend I just stick with the Taisol CGK742092 ?

Is this fan quiet enough, and is it adequate enough for overclocking to no more than 1.5ghz?

The ORBs are LOUD! If you're not gonna overclock go for something quieter. I got a socket-aho and it keeps temps cooler than a superorb and the noise level is like night and day. Just my cent a half.

The most quiet fan, and it cools in the top five at Toms Hardware is the Noise Control Silverado. It is BIG bucks but worth it. I live in the US and it cost (sit down) $89.00 to my door. I am not sorry a bit. No wait, I am sorry I did not find out about this sooner.
I had to take the side cover off my case and look in with a flashlight to see if the fans (twin turbos) were working. It is the best part I have ever bought. They even give you little squares of noise control material to put on the bottom of the motherboard to stop any vibrations from the fans.
Check out tomshardware and see the results on the 42 HSF's that he did. Then check out: http://www.aconto.de/home.htm
The Orbs are not good at all as far as cooling goes. They look cool, but that is it. Also they will break a AMD chip if you have a copper shim on them. Some of the retailers have a warning about this. Been there, done that, and got two t-shirts. One to put on and the other to wipe my tears.

Is there any good, but yet quiet Taisols or GlobalWins?

And guys, I said to provide links...for example, I've never heard or seen a "socket-aho", so how am I supposed to find it?

The Volcano 2 is cheaper and quieter than the both Orbs and perform just as good as mini-copper orb

I know it! I've always wanted to buy the Volcano 2, but everyone was telling me how I need to spend my money on a more expensive Taisol etc.!

I doubt I'm even going to overclock! I have a 333mhz, and it plays Age of Kings just fine! And RTS games is all I play, so I'm pretty sure it will perform Empire Earth superbly once it's released this September! :) I mean, think about it! I'm getting an additional 1000mhz on top of what I had...lol

The volcano ll should be just fine for your needs. I have a 800 and am building a 850 for a friend, and the volcano ll's keep the systems at 45 c. I found them at computer shows for 14.00 ea.
