You never need Arctic Silver for any cooling; but since it's so cheap and so easy to use, most people use it by default.

I do.

BTW, did you get the Big Water kit? I just picked one of those up tonight.

Yes I purchased the CLW0005 Big Water Kit. Read great reviews about it. So when I put the cooler on the processor do I need to use arctic silver?

Yeppers. Let me know how the install goes. I'm still going to test a few more processors with my air cooler before I slap the waterblock on.

Nope, I thought you already had it. You don't need it. Just use whatever paste you have lying around.

And you can always reapply it later if you happen to buy some AS5.
