Thermaltake Tsunami fan noise?

I'm getting ready to upgrade my aging machine to a new nForce4 solution and I'm trying to figure out the best case to get for it. Initially I was looking at the Antec Super Lanboy because of the 120mm fans and its cheap cost, but then I saw a bunch of reviews for the Thermaltake Tsunami. I started digging for reviews on the Tsunami and I'm getting mixed reports of whether or not the fans are loud or not.

For those who have the Tsunami or have heard it...are the fans quiet or are they louder than they really should be? I have heard the fans in the Antec Sonata case (if you can call it hearing them) and that's really what I'm after...something that's so quiet I have to wonder if it's on or not.

Oh yeah, I'm looking for a case that DOES have a window so that's why I'm looking for cases beyond the Sonata.

Thanks for the help!

I have the case, and no the fans aren't loud. When they go at full RPM, they can get quite noisy, but I have them hooked up to the fan only PSU connector on my NeoPower 480, so they are regulated by the powersupply and are very quiet. My eVGA 6800 Limited Edition's fan is lounder by far than any of the other fans in my system.

I don't have the case (although I've played around with one). Just thought I could help, that's all! 🙂

That's fine...I'm glad for the help. I'm in a position where I'm reading 2 different takes on this case and I'm really concerned about whether it's loud or not. I'd hate to get it and then have to spend even more to replace the fans in it.

I bought the Tsunami also. It will be at least 5x quieter than the computer I have now I know that for sure. If it is "too loud" which it isn't going to be i'll replace the fans with Panaflo units, that would quiet it down from what I've read

And what is this fascination with quiet computers? If you are gaming or listening to music with headphones or speakers you aren't going to hear it. And in a short time your body will be desensitized to the noise and you won't even notice it. I probably have the loudest and most annoying computer ever and I can't sleep without it on now.

have it..not very loud..the only fan that seems to be slightly loud is the fan in the front...nothing close to unbearable though..the case is cool too..I love it..

I have the case to and is pretty quite, great air flow, and great build. Only weak point to it is the front door being loose when unlocked.
