I've seen lots of reviews on this heatsink, but am wondering what folks think of them in 'real life' testing/usage?

amazon has the p0025 (aluminum version) for $35 shipped and the p0024 (copper) version seems to be around $44 + shipping online...

i have an Intel 915MB (socket-T) and am hoping to run my P4 3.2 on this guy...

any input would be helpful, as i don't see alot in the 'search' results for this section...

Thanks!

The mounting system sucks but the cooler works well. I used the AlCu version and got real good numbers, but I'd be leery of hanging it's 600+ grams off a mobo for very long. I wouldn't use that 1000+ gram all-copper version no matter how much you paid me.

yeah, be wary of the tower coolers. They put a great amount of torque onto the cpu. One slight bump of the case might be enough for the thing to go "kablang" and if you have a window'ed case, you will instantly see the heatsink with whaveter it was mounted to breaking through your graphics card.

I think you just didn't wait long enough. Not everybody hangs out here 24/7 ready to answer questions minutes after they're posted.:p

I just ordered the 25 version from Xoxide for around the same price as Amazon, just for the heck of it. I like checking out (or making my own) unique HSFs. I think the aluminum version would cool just fine. I have several Zalman 7000 series and the aluminum one works great. My next purchase will be a Zalman 7700 series, $33 from Amazon with free shipping, -$30 because I just got my Amazon VISA card.

I always laugh at a friend of mine because he doesn't like to use any HSF that doesn't "look" normal. He didn't even like Thermalright heatsinks because of the fan clips and thick center until I proved to him (using his own computer and one of my ALX800 heatsinks) that they worked well. He then took to complaining about the stiff mounting clip. LOL.

I have the al version, and it works fine. I too am a bit worried about the torque applied to the mobo. Also, it is not as "silent" as their claims.

Im currently using the CL-P0025 and im relly happy with it. I suggest you get the aluminum one since the base is still copper, and the aluminum fins are lighter, so there is less strain on your motherboard.

Its one BIG heatsink, so make sure that you have enough space for it on your case. It also works alot better if you add a second fan on the other side to pull out the heat out of the tower. The fan is silent as advertised, its barely louder than my 90mm Vantec stealth, but it pushes out far more air. This cooler is great if your number one priority is having a super silent CPU cooler while maintaining decent temps.
