TT Pure Power PSU

this PSU looks real interesting, I know a lot of people on here dislike anything TT, but my Tsunami is a pretty decent case, and I love my Beetle HSF. I'm thinking about ordering this PSU, the design and concept is pretty crazy. Opinions? not "TT is teh sUx0rs!?!" from somebody who hasn't used this, anyone actually have one?

Seen this on Anandtech before. Some of the ideas look good.

Looks very weak on the 12v rails though. Dual 15A's so it doesnt sound appealing.

I`m not to gung ho on PSU`s that are ATX 2.0 and modular...

mainly becuase the top PSU maker In My Opinion as well as SPCR`s Me Chin both say Intel is shying away from the ATX 2.0.....

Also I`m not to gung ho on anything modular!!

Although I will tell you I almost went modular before I said to myself....If as they say the PSU is your most important component why not buy from one of the best or from a company that many reviewing sites say is the best...so i forked over some hard earned cash!!

With that said...
Personally I like the looks of the TT Pure POwer PSU!!http://www.thermaltake.com/purepower/woo7374PST/w007374.htm

I was looking at the dual rails....and such I believe that if thats whet you want you should get it!!

Seems to have nice specs and all....go for it!!

Just let us know what ya think after a month or so!!

I'm using a Thermaltake Purepower 680W triple 12V rail PSU and it is very powerfull, rock stable, very accurate and protects the hardware pretty well.
I would go with that 520W version, it looks pretty good and seems powerfull in the specs ;)

So did I. I have one comming tomorrow, if UPS delivers on Columbus Day here in the States. Because this is my first desktop, after 3 lappies, I may, or may not, attempt this install by myself. If it goes thermal, you'll be the first to know.....I take that back..... the cat will be the first.
Edit;
I got it for 139.00 from EWiz. That included shipping.

Those little power station dealies are a neat idea. Not sure if that would simplify wiring, or complicate it more.. It would obviously reduce how many wires you have coming from the PSU, but would put a lot more slack up around the areas you typically don't want to see any..

Someone try it and post some pics! :)

5,25 bay station and mini station look like great idea (quite shocking from thermaltake ;) ) Case looks very tidy with this TT psu. If it is not overpriced i will probaby buy it, as my KING KONG 400W will die soon (judging by the weird sounds coming from it :D )

Any TT product in my opinion has two strikes against it. This PS does have the neatness factor which I desire in a case, so take away the one strike. As for the price/performance of these drives seem middlin'. Will wait and see on their next generation PS.

Obviously, this is the best power supply out there right now as anyone can see. All class. Too bad I don't have the cash for it right now.

No, the best out there would be a PC Power & Cooling PSU . . .

I do like the TT designs . . . too bad I just bought a Powerstream . . . oh well . . .

Did you even look at it? I doubt it.

Of course i am not going to buy average psu for 200. It can be the best PSU on the world but if it is 200$i will not even look at it.

Between each drive and the source of power you have 4 sets of contacts (3 more than a standard PSU) - not good from a technical standpoint. At least they were smart enough to use latching connectors on the PSU and the boxes so they are not likely to fall out. That's a major flaw with many other modulars. At least all the circuits involved in this modular part are relatively low current, so they are unlikely to melt from contact resistance like ATX connectors are known to do. And Tt are usually half-decent PSUs mostly OEMed by Sirtec so you shouldn't be getting a total dog in any case. If I were getting a 500+ Watt class PSU with a reasonable price, it would probably be the Sparkle FSP550-60PLG - single +12 rail all the way! Much more flexible than any split rail and no extra added resistance points of modular.
