their cases are overpriced and too flashy. there are much better alternatives in the same price range, lian li for example. if you like how they look, that's a different story.

their psus seem to aim for the 'more watts is better' crowd. there are better alternatives such as fortron, yet thermaltake psus seem to be the most popular on newegg according to the number of reviews.

finally, their fans are rated horribly. they claim to have high cfm and low db levels.

so what is thermaltake good for? nothing to be honest. there are better alternatives than thermaltake products.

Thermaltake is the sony of cases and cooling.

Take it for what its worth.

You know youre not getting crap, but youre paying more for mediocre.

I guess I should buy a new PSU now. Drat this 470W Tt that can't OC for ****** (couldn't handle the OC done by a previous 450W Cooler Master). I've used 3 Tt products: Volcano 10+ and Crystal Orb. Volcano 10+ is now using an Akasa fan adapter and a 80 mm Raidmax fan while the Crystal Orb is now a paperweight, after being replaced by my motherboard's chipset heatsink (I put that thing on a Ti4200). I do like their Eureka and Matrix VX cases though. But 160 and 85 for a case is kinda steep when I can get a higher quality Lian Li for a bit more.

As for case fans, I'm using all Cooler Masters. Some salesman in China wanted to sell me some Thermaltakes and I decided against it. That guy then followed me around the store for an hour and kept trying to make me buy them...UNTIL I arrived at some Cooler Masters. I went through two cities to buy my Cooler Master fans. That, fellow AT goers, is devotion to your computer.

Oh, this one would be great in Cases & Cooling.

You just have to pick and choose your thermaltake products. I bought a Tsunami case, and I love it. Not too flashy but still different than your average tan box. I don't have any experience with their PSUs but the fans in the case are reasonably quiet.

whats wrong with Thermaltake? I have an Aquarius 2 water cooling kit and it has performed flawlessly for over 2 years now, It allows me to overclock my A64 3000+ to 2.5ghz and still have cpu temps at full load below 30c....if thats not a good setup I don't know what is

I'm not a big fan of their cases but I have 3 of their power supplies. I knew I wasn't getting the best possible PS at the time, but I paid a reasonable price for them.
