"The TRUE Black 120's dimensions are identical to the Ultra-123 eXtreme"

Ultra-123 eXtreme?

On topic: that cooler looks nice, but unless they make all their other coolers in black also then Thermalright City will be ruined.

booo! I got excited thinking there was a new design (direct touch heatpipes maybe?), but instead its just a black TRUE :(

Well maybe the bottom will actually be flat so the "improved" performance will be touted as visibly superior aka black edition. ;)

lol. I'll believe this when I see it, seems unlikely they would want to impair heat transfer by adding a layer of crap on the fins.

Where the hell did that come from? Don't mean to sound emo or dead, but i have a black case, black mobo, black dvd, black lcd, black keyboard, black mouse, black speakers... that's a very interesting theory

I cant tell if you're just going along with it or not but my link was an old (1995) April fool. To me it's spoofing marketing pseudoscience and how there's a lot of "journalism" regurgitating it without common sense or verification.

TR historically came out with solid, engineered and genuinely high performance products which were popular through word of mouth. I was having a poke at them coming out with a "Ultra-123 eXtreme" where so far the change seems to be only having made it black by putting on a coating that we imagine will only make it perform worse. They're still a long way from sticking LED's and aesthetic spoilers on but I hope it stays that way!

April fools?!?! I must say that was a good one. The reason i was taking it half seriously is because of all the rumours regarding the effect of colour on performance. So far, the only proven effect of colour that i know of is that paradoxally green affects plants. Living beings are affected by colour, not a stupid sensor or chip.

One thing bothers me about this cooler... nobody said anything about it becoming flat, not even Thermalright. As far as i know, they had a major issue for not being flat.

uhhh... no comment to this seeing how persephone is in a black shell, and how both persephone and freya are off black PCB motherboards as well. :X

DFI LT X38 on perseph
eVGA 780i on freya.

not sure about the anodized coating but... how about sealing the arch'ed gap at the top and bottom to force air through the blades???? Good ol' duct tape to the rescue!!! And the black doesnt look as bling on my chain... Flava Flav's :clock: has NOTHING on my TRUE.

oh... and, not sure if this is on the post already but, anybody know if they fixed the cradle mount for this one????? The TRUE is WAY too easy to rotate on the lga775. After a few months I accidently tweaked the position just a hair and had to reseat it. Barely agitating the thermal paste caused about a 8-12 degree increase in temps. AND even with mirror surface lapping on both the proc and the block...
