Thermalright Ultra-120 Cooler against Tuniq & Ninja review

oh screw your fanboyism.

the wrong arrangement on that Ultra 120 obviously makes sure it doesn't cool properly. If you get another board but with almost the same mobo arrangement, then you might have a comparison. Otherwise, I consider these results invalid.

actually thats just a general assumtion for that particular test. Those of us who have used more than one high end heatsink all know that from computer to computer there really are too many variables too proclaim one heatsink the best for all computers!!

Just go back and look at these forums people switch all the time to a supposedly better heatsink and then they post they are getting no better temps than they had before...
It happens... 😀

Yup, the review is funadmentally flawed because of the orientation difference of the heatsinks. However, if you are using it on a 939 board where that is the only orientation you can have it at, then I'd probably consider a ninja or Tuniq (although good luck finding one), since both of those can be pointed either way.

I've got the Ultra-120 on my e6600, DS3 and I can orient it any way I want so I'm guessing it would work better for that setup. I certainly have no complaints.

ok scrap that review. look around it still dont change anything. im not talking about that review gee whoever said 1 review is the final result how is it fanboyism? i dont want a tuniq. goto xbit-labs and see reviews there of tuniq outperforming others. theres nothing substantially better but close by a few degrees. i couldnt be bothered reading the whole review. I show you 10 reviews tuniq outperforming ultra-120. hence why i said its king. my opinion

I saw another review earlier this week (but don't recall where) which showed the U120 as the winner and the one to beat.

PC Games hardware Issue Semptember/2006 also declared the U120 the winner.

It really depends on the test setup.

The fan used, the room temp, the components, the airflow direction, and the TIM all make a small difference. Use a different amount of As5 and some HSF can do poorly vs another.

All hail, the Tuniq Tower 120!

Even the lowly Scythe Ninja Plus trounced the Ultra-120 in this review.

I'm back on it again -- Tuniq is THE one to have... 🙂

Did you read any of the comments here?

if you kept upto aircooling last 6 months you know tuniq outperforms 9x out of 10. if i had the money i go out and buy all the top 3 coolers and test 3x over just to give some results but many say tuniq is better but nobody can buy one for so long but they want because the concensus is its better.

giggles @VinDsl
you so funny
read everyones comments
