Thermalright SI-120

it would depend on how much high end you plan on doing. otherwise, the xp-90 would suffice, plus you have to worry about copatibility with the 120.

edit: is it me or did the si version increased the height between the on-die cooler and the heatsink?

it's copper so shouldn't it be beter?

It cools slightly better than the XP/SI-120, but is a lot heavier. The 90C ways 690g w/out a fan, and I personally wouldn't want that much weight hanging off my MB.

As for the SI-120, they designed it to fit any current P4/K8 MB. Where the XP-120 would not fit on some boards, the SI will. So MB compatability should no longer be a problem.

From what I understand the XP-120 cools better. This unit was mainly created due to the size constraints on a lot of motherboards. A lot of mobos would not fit the XP-120 properly.
