Thermal Problems

I have two bad cards, a MX4000 and a FX5500, both due to overheating. One due to under sized heatsink and the other to a bad fan. Do the GPUs have thermal protection? If so, they should be fixable? Right? 🙁

Probably not but you should be able to pick up a spare MX4000 from Ebay for very cheap. I might even have one lying around somewhere.

Probably a good idea to make sure your case has good airflow, a heatsink on it's own won't be ver effective if ity has no way of cooling as heat will just build up.

What do you mean "bad"? It's hard to tell if they're salvageable without knowing how exactly they're failing.
