Hey all -

I also posted this message in general hardware.

I've been trying to solve a weird problem with a new T-bird
system I'm building (trying to build).

Here's what I've got:

AMD 1200 T-bird
Asus A7V and(!) Abit KT7-Raid
CoolerMaster DP5-6H11
2x 256MB Corsair DIMM's (CAS2)
3dLabs GVX1 (AGP model)
IBM 45GB 75GXP ATA100 HD
Toshiba CD-RW/DVD
Palo Alto Products PA-810 enclosure with a 300W Delta Electronics DPS-300bb ATX Power Supply

So here's what's going on. Put the whole thing together (no big deal) and started it up. System stayed on for a few minutes than powered off. Checked it over, turned it on again. Same thing - on for a couple of minutes, then down. It's not going into standby, it's literally turning itself OFF. HARD.

At first, I thought it might be a thermal problem, so I checked the temperatures in the A7V BIOS (version 1005c), but the CPU was never over 45 C and the m/b never got to hot
either. Still, to make sure, I dumped the adhesive, thermal stuff that came with the CoolerMaster and got some better paste, stuck in there. Same thing.

So then I became suspicious of the M/B. Went to Fry's (DOH!) to find another A7V, but they didn't have it, so I picked up the Abit KT7-Raid. Stuck that in there, wired it up. A few
minutes and BAM! Off it goes again.

So now I'm starting to wonder about the ATX power supply. It's supposed to be a pretty good one, but ... who knows.

Any help on this would be very much appreciated. I'm at wits end.

Thanks, and sorry for the long post.
