thermal probe?

how much are thermal probes? i dont need anything fancy, just something i can use to take accurate cpu temps. also, with the heatsink installed, where exactly would i put the probe? thanx

I have a ThermalTake Hardcano 2, which has 2 lcd screens showing temps. You put the sensor under the CPU, it the center. The wires coming out of the sensor are so thin that you can run them between 2 pins on the CPU, and then into the unit itself. Link
Mine is the top one, but there are units that do different things, like control fan speeds, etc. I just needed it to get temps and cool my hdd!

try looking for Digidoc 5. it can control fan speeds according to temperature
