Thermal paste

Do i really need to use some?
Let me explain. I just bough an 2500XP and im giving my old 2100 to my father. I needed for that to remove it from my mobo and put it on his. I dont have any thermal paste so i was wondering if i really need some...he doesnt plan to overclock at all!

Yes. Regardless of overclocking or not, you need to apply some kind of thermal compound.
