Thermal paste when there is no over clocking!!!

I bought an alpha pal6035. I have not received it yet, but should i put the thermal compound even though i don't OC?

You definitely should. You don't need arctic silver, just your basic Radio Shack thermal grease will be fine . . . But it never hurts to have thermal grease.

If your HS/fan comes with thermal tape already attached, leave it there and just put it on the CPU. It will work well for you.

When you get your pal6035, it should arrive with Alpha's grease. Use it! :D

I agree with all of the above. you should never put a fan on a CPU &quot;dry&quot;. There are air gaps and air makes a great INSULATOR. Just make sure that you use it sparingly. ;)
