You definitely should. You don't need arctic silver, just your basic Radio Shack thermal grease will be fine . . . But it never hurts to have thermal grease.
I agree with all of the above. you should never put a fan on a CPU "dry". There are air gaps and air makes a great INSULATOR. Just make sure that you use it sparingly.
