Thermal Monitor, Nexus + Fanbus

I was wondering if i could use the Nexus Thermal Monitor with the Fanbus

...........This way i could control the speed of more than one fan, or all fans at the same speed. Please let me know.

Someone has to have a clue about the electrical capabilities of the rheostat on the Nexus.

Thats a nice one, but he want's a fanbus/temp sensor in one package instead of two seperate 5.25's. The Nexus is excellent but it only controls one fan (assuming the CPU fan).

If anyone has any fairly easy suggestions for creating something like this please reply. (using a aluminum faceplate or whatever)

I'll sum up, looking for a multi (3) rheostat (or three way switch) baybus with LCD temp monitor or a link to find the parts to build one.

Try the Digidock, from Overclockers UK, it has 8 temperature sensors, and i think you can control fans as well.
On the other OC website that i`ve mentioned, i think that they do a drive bay thing that does both temp sensors, and fan control. Go and have a look.

Alot of "thinks" there, but go a check the two sites and find out.

You can use them together but naturally they will take up 2 5.25" bays as others said.

But I don't recommend either. See this thread on the 201 fan controller. I also had the NXP101. As a fan controller it worked just fine. The cpu temp probe isn't thin enough to place it under your cpu so vantec says to place it between the cpu and heatsink. This way will not be remotely accurate.

I tried to place it between my heatsinks fins, it crumbled easily. I was even very gentle. And if all the temp probes are not attached then if still using the 101 you'll hear loud random beeps.

But, maybe I got bad ones. These were the first shipping units.

Thanks for the info, i think i am going to use a DigiDoc 5 for LCD display, but make my own rehostat. 🙂
