using a slim volcano 10+, comes with the pcm45 interface on the bottom. For some reason my temps are going up for no reason at all. idle temps are 63C. My cable setup in my case is decent at best, no wires in the way, the HS itself is practically clean. almost NO DUST at all. My case temp is 28C. I should not be getting those high temps with the case temps i have. I have no clue as to why my temps are so high except for the fact maybe the interface is just no good or maybe its wearing out(?) I want to use artic silver on it but obviously i can't with the interface that came with the hs. I've had bad luck in the past taking this stuff off. It got so bad i ruined the base of the hs because the interface that came with my previous hs didn't wanna come off. I've used Alcohol on it with Q-tips (as most recommended) and it didn't work. I dont wanna make the same mistake twice with the one im using now. Is there any best way in doing this? Are there other methods to take this crappy stuff off? thx in advance!

1- scrape most off with plastic tool (knife they give with breakfast at Mickey D's works great)
2- remove the rest with lighter fluid (naphta) for Zippo type lighters OR acetone.
3- rinse with rubbing alcohol - make sure it is the kind without any additives like glycerine or wintergreen oil....
4- dry with lintless product like Kimwipes, lens paper or a coffee filter.

. Now it's ready to apply AS...

i forgot to mention that its not a pad. its some sticky stuff on the base. not sure what it is but definetely its not a pad. scrapying this stuff off isn't gonna work. I think thats where my problem lied at with my previous hs. scraping it off just makes it sink into the base even more. unless im doing it wrong. Or does your method work on sticky stuff to? if so i must be doing it wrong. :(
