Thermal Interface Material Advice

I have an FX-55 processor that is running too hot. I just invested in a ThermalRight 90C Heatsink, and 92cm 126CFM fan, and a couple of slot coolers. Should arrive today.

I also ordered 1 tube each of Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic Silver MX-1. They were both on sale and both tubes cost me less what an individual tube of either would usually cost (under $10).

My question is ... which compound is superior?

The FX-55 runs @ 104Watts and icould be considered a space heater. Going onto an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe with 2x6800 ultra's.

Any advice on which of the 2 compounds to mate the chip to the heatsink?

Thanks for any assistance.

DOH!!!!

I guess that answer that. I know Arctic Silver has the better reputation with regards to compound.

Anyone want to buy a tube of MX-1? ;-)

actually the mx1 isnt bad. it might be 1 degree c worse than as5 arouns there but it wont be capacitive and wont stick like glue.
