Thermal Compund & CPU Cleaning

I have read that you should use Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the CPU (which is rubbing alcohol). Which I thought would be straight forward, however, upon reading my Rubbing alcohol bottle that I have, I found that there are different types of Rubbing alcohol. I have Ethanol anhydrous. Is this ok to use on a CPU? Or should I find the Isopropyl Alcohol "class" rubbing alcohol??

Thanks,

Warath

Isopropyl is what's recommended because it completely evaporates... not all forms of alcohol do. Which is why it's recommended that you use Isopropyl after using Goo Off... because Goo Off doesn't fully evaporate.

Anhydrous means without water. Ethanol is ethyl alcohol.
This is actually a better choice than the Isopropyl, and does a better job of cleaning.
Methyl Alcohol is what you want to avoid, as it is a corrosive liquid.
