Thermal Compound question

I'm gonna be building a new core i7 rig in the next few days but forgot to order thermal compound for the heat sink. I do have some Arctic Silver 5 laying around from a previous build. Problem is, that was 2.5-3 years ago. Do you think it's still good to use? Or should I just use the stock HSF until I can get some new thermal compound? Thanks!
