After a search of his user name, I came up with 3 pages of his posts. One of them was on this topic: Please stop the nested quotes

Like many, I set the options to view 100 posts/page, so having one page's formatting fuxored usually makes me just give up on a thread even if I was somewhat interested. Scrolling side to side on every post is just too distracting to my reading.

I was under the impression that this was not allowed, even when it is not used to nef. Yet some of the biggest offenders I see are Lifers, or people with early join dates (i.e. people who should know better).

Nobody should need the entire conversation posted every time a new response is added. If your short term memory is so bad that you can't remember what is going on, just scroll up and reread the thread.

I understand the desire to get in a fast response in a heated debate, but it only takes a few seconds to delete the redundant info.
