there's one thing a job at a fast-food joint teaches you...

i worked at target when i was 16, and the managers made me work at the taco bell inside the target for one day because they were short on people... man was it terrible. fast food customers are the most ingrateful bastards ever!

Indeed, it does give folks a head start towards working for a big organization.

been there done that...

pops made me get a job when i was 16...i worked at mcdonalds, sonic, subway.... taught me a lot of life lessons.

I worked 1 food service job when I was 14-15 and determined then I would have to be starving and desperate before I would ever do it again.

working part-time at a factory was even better.

I worked in a Burger King for 2 days when I was 16 ... mid-way through the second day I went out on a break & never went back.

i worked for carls jr and mcdonalds at some points early on in life. those jobs are just stepping stones for emerging kids to get their feet wet in the workplace. they arent the most fun work, but they do serve a purpose.

I worked fast food in 90-91 or so. it was not that bad. sure you worked hard (i ran the grill area). but it was not that bad. The positive is the food was great. fresh off the grill burger with the correct seasoning is really good.

I worked for McDonalds when I was 15-16. Easy job, free food (made to your order).
At this point in my life I would have to be starving and living on the street to even consider working a fast food job.

oh yeah. i sure in the hell would not work in one now.

Actually, I learned something very important about business when I worked fast food in high school. Which is that you can bitch about working hard and being busy all you want (fast food is always either rushrushrush or dead slow) but no customers means no paycheck. Business is the process of serving people.

Yes, those are the worst. It definitely teaches you to be humble and to treat their better. I hate it when I go in and see some idiot mistreating the workers.

Definitely... instead of complaining, you probably realize what's going on in the background.

Working menial jobs when I was younger taught me that my generation has no sense of responsibility. To me, a job is a job. It doesn't matter if I'm paid $6 an hour or $60 an hour, I do my job well.
