Tonight - CBS news reports that Saddam is allowing families of his top advisors to leave the country...

To set an example, members of Saddam's security forces arrested a civil servant in the al-Hurriyya suburb of Baghdad on suspicion of preparing to leave the country. The unfortunate official was then tied to a pole in the street and passers-by were ordered to watch as his tongue was cut out and he was left to bleed to death.

Go ahead. And no, I am not anti-American, I am anti-Bush and anti-War-On-Iraq. Your attitude is what is killing democratic discussion in this country.

Can I quote you on that? *Another Lemming Idiot*

good to see another liberal showing the maturity of the democratic party

Yes, if you do not want to go to war (preferably asap, what are we waiting for, kill, kill , KILL!) you are nothing but a left wing liberal... you know, just like Blair!

really....its so nice to see that democrats can clearly state their opinions without attacking...I would so love to start a debate right now...however I doubt it would be an intelligent one, as I have yet to see such a thing with a liberal

Erm...wasn't he just responding in the same form that Tabb did? In which case, the immaturity you claim to be part of the Democratic lifestyle is actually properly more directed toward whatever Tabb is politically? But then again, it's always more convenient to blame the liberals for everything, right?

The rally in the market was due to shorters covering their positions. This was NOT about investor confidence.

We have 300,000 troops in Iraq. What, we're just going to pack up our $hit and go home? Right. Do you think Saddam and his followers are just going to say "hey we're leaving no hard feelings, don't shoot us when we leave"?

OK, I guess I can see the anti-Bush thing. I happen to like him and think he is a much better president that Gore would have been. I will grant you that a stronger presidential candidate could have been found by either party. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bush is not.

How can you be anti-War-on-Iraq? Are you really that stupid? This is a country led by a dictator who has such hatred of Americans and American policies that we and all of our allies are at risk of any number of possible attacks.

For example, there are reports that Saddam rewarded families of suicide bombers in Israel. These reports are denied. We get ready to invade, what does Saddam do? Tries to gather volunteer suidide bombers to attack American troops. Hmmm, pattern?

We have been at war with Iraq since 1992. We are not at peace, we have a formal cease-of-hostilities that depends on complying with the various UN resolutions which includes Hussein presenting all chemical weapons that his country has possession of and accounting for the rest. All of this inspectors searching for weapons is BS. This is not compliance. And furthermore, most of the excuses as to where some of the weapons have gone are stupid. You can't just "dispose" of close to a ton of anthrax.

This man is a danger to most countries on the planet. We have both an obligation to defend our allies and a right to defend ourself. If you don't have the backbone to defend your home that is one thing, but do not talk badly of a man who will defend it for you.

Great post!! Now how can we get those pesky Liberals to understand something that seems so simple to you and me??

Dubya stated fairly clearly tonight that Sadaam had 48 hours to get out of dodge. What's his word worth if he's bluffing/not being serious? I got the impression that he meant what he was saying, and that this really is the last chance......

intuitive reasoning charliebrown. We'll see if this pans out. Honestly I don't think wealthy Iraqi businessmen nor anyone on this planet can predict what a crazy person like saddam will do. However, he does value his life greatly and I think if he is a smart person he will leave :/
