It was costing close to a dollar/day just to keep it parked (insurance/reg) and was beginning to make expensive noises so we sent it out to pasture. It was so comfy and there's a lot to be said for one finger driiving. :'(

Now you can buy a new one. Have you thought about a Wagon Queen Family Truckster?

OP, is that a recent picture? I love the old timey feel of the surroundings. The novelty teepee attraction, the sign in the background with the plastic out.

One of my old coworkers used to collect old cars like that. It was always fun when he drove one to work, and we got to "appreciate" the exhaust fumes.

The pic was taken about eight years ago at the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ (near Petrified Forest National Park). The motel is still in operation and you can stay in the teepees (which we did).

Sell or scrapyard? What's the replacement?

You were an inspiration to all us cheap asses hanging onto our vehicles till the wheels literally fall off.

We donated it to a charity who will auction it off. We couldn't get any bites at $500 on craigslist even though it runs fine.

Sorry you had to let that guy go. I can't believe someone wouldn't go for that at $500.

I can, but it depends on where you live. Around here used car prices are low, and gas prices are high. Stuff like that almost always goes for scrap unless its free or like $100.

That is a great car - RIP!

My wife's family used to have the one with the rear-facing seats in the back. I can only imagine the emotional impact mere fender benders must have left on kids back in the day
