No, it just makes it impossible to relate to it...and then when the owner tries to explain his story or reasoning, your only reaction is "oh...that's nice."

Some of those tattoos are fine...the radioactive symbols, the more tribal cave-art looking ones. But the others are kind...well....I think of them the same way as that one guy's Zune tattoo.

Nerd tats are the ones that come from a scientific explanation or method (ie #1 and 32).

Geek tats are the ones that display deviant or non-standard behaviors (as if getting a tat is nondeviant behavior) - ie #13, #14

dork tats are the ones where they think they are being hip but actually turn out to be incorrectly inked. Example: many girls think they are getting 'eternal beauty' tattoed in Chinse characters on their back or neck when in reality they are really getting "I'm easy" or "menu item #5 with snow peas"
