ASUS A7V refuses to flash to any BIOS higher than 1004d. It's a revision 1.2 and no matter what I do the 1005, 1005a, and 1005b BIOSES all fail on the 3rd stage of the flash (the EEPROM Checking bit at the end). 1003, 1004c and 1004d all flash perfectly.

I need to get a 1005x bios on so I can try and get this buggy peice o crap working anywhere near normal and all the answers in all the FAQ's and forums say 1005a or b will sort my problems out

However this is the 4th forum I have posted this problem on and no-one can answer it for me!

Anyone fancy doing a quick step by step (including versions of aflash or asusupdate they used)

Cheers

Are you using the online flash utility or the DOS flash utility? Are you booting from a diskette before flashing? Did you try copying the file to the hard drive and flashing it from there? Did you go into the BIOS and try disabeling your cache (i.e. video BIOS cache, system BIOS cache, L2 ect...). Also, try resetting the motherboard defaults with the jumper on the motherboard before flashing the BIOS. Finally, have you tried other RAM in the system?
