I disagree. If you don't know where the candidates stand on the important issues, don't even bother voting. However, it's not too late to go to the candidates' websites and learn and then vote.

Reminds me of a quote:

"Bad officals are elected BY PEOPLE WHO DON'T VOTE!"

Vote or Die!!

Plus if you are that far out of the loop then you probably didn't even register!

Bad officials are also elected by people that think voting in ignorance is better than not voting at all.

nope, I live in Texas, Bush will win (he's the one I'd vote for) there really is no reason for me to vote.
if he loses by 1 vote i'm personally going to texas and kicking your ass
I was talking more in context to the screwed up electoral college voting system, Bush already has enough votes in early voting to win Texas (last report I read said ~86% w/3% margin of error), I don't have time to keep up with the other persons/seats to be voted on, so there actually is no reason for me to vote. When the electoral college voting system is finally gone (and we go to a true popular vote) you bet you @ss I'll be voting.

At least tell the truth - you don't care enough to make time.
hammer, nail, head. the present voting system (or the present political system) doesn't allow the average joe to make a difference, (though they lead the mindless debutons to believe so) you vote for someone you don't really know who says he/she can do things then they don't/can't/get paid off and don't do them. education is key, I have more important things to educate myself on that to sift through the onslaugt of privateering political idiocracy. I'd rather spend time with my family that waste it on information that may or may not be accurate at the moment because of the ease at which our government allows political lobbying by those with the most advertising money.

Wonder if I should send in my absentee ballot. The address is out of date, so it's in a wrong precinct now, but with the same races since it's only a few blocks away. USPS forwarded it to me for some reason even though they aren't supposed to forward absentee ballots. I guess I am gonna send it in.

If you don't vote, please at least have a good reason for it. If you do vote, please at least have a good reason for it.

Don't just vote for kerry cause you heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that he watched the news and bush 'promised' to bring back the draft. or vote for bush because you heard from a friend that kerry is a douchebag.

Uninformed votes hurt america as much as not voting does too, these campains scare me since it says 'get out and vote' but not neccesarily 'and get educated on the issues, and men and women representing those issues'.

Good reason to vote: being an eligible voter.
Good reason not to vote: not being an eligible voter.
If you don't have an opinion, form one, and vote. How you form your opinion is up to you. No reason why it can't be because of what a friend said.

Please vote to stop Bush.. as a Canadian I plead with you - go vote.
It doesn't have to be for Kerry, but that would be good.

But if Americans are meant to be so patriotic they should at least vote, for who you think is best fit to run your country.

Let me see, I've been eligible to vote for 26 years and have never voted. Why? Because I figured the government would continue to be just as fscked up, and continue to get worse, whether I voted or not. Time, and the sheer number of uninformed retards that do vote just because they "should vote" and end up voting either their party or the latest media influences, has proven me correct in that assumption.

If I were to vote for anything, it would be for local propositions on the ballot or local seats of government (anything at the state or federal level is a complete waste of time), but even the idiots have too much sway over that. IMHO, you should have to take a test before you can vote so that the public, for whom you are performing this civic duty, can be assured that you are at least somewhat informed of the people and issues under consideration. But this is not practical, the politicians as well as the media know this quite well, and take advantage of it.

In truth, I wish someone would make a serious effort to persuade people to not vote; a voter turnout of less than 10% would make me happy and maybe I would vote then.
