There is a bat in my bathroom

True story.

Edit:
Heh, I forgot about this thread & as such forgot the update.

My roommate's boyfriend sent me a text asking if he could borrow my truck...I replied after he had gone to bed - he heard the phone beep, reached for it...and ended up grabbing the bat instead.

Now you can give that frog a breather.

LoL!

That's cool. I like bats. I used to live by the water, and tons of bats would come out at night. Every so often one would get it's sonar messed up or something, and crash into a building. You'd find them dead, or stunned.

There were a couple queer guys that lived next to me, and they told me about getting a couple bats in their house. They said they were chasing them around with badminton rackets. That left a hilarious mental image for me, and I still chuckle over it 20 years later :^D

lucky man! i wish i had more bats living around my house. the do wonders for the insect population.

Anytime you see a bat out in the daylight and on the ground, be careful! If you can see/catch it it is probably sick and you should NOT handle it bare-handed.

ehh ... fishing net or towel works good for that situation .... though if you don't get it in the net or towel on 1st attempt, it will get a little bit spooked and fly around the house ..... might want to leave the door wide open and try to scare it through ....

Had that happen at my grandma's house twice ... once came through the chimney of the wood burning stove (fire wasn't going, but the flume thing was open ....) saw it fly out of fireplace ....

Other time don't know how it got into the house, but it was in the bathtub .... I was like 10, and my uncle tried to get it ... was very very funny ....

This one's in the bathroom though. It probably got in, and was confused. There's not much to stick to, so the floor's a natural place to find it.

Bats like to be upside down hidden in crevices. If it were tucked away in the shower curtain or towels I'd be less concerned. Spread out on the floor is not normal bat behavior.

I really like bats and want to get some bat boxes around our house. They are wildlife though and should be handled with care and only when absolutely necessary.

If it could stick to the plastic, especially after bumping walls trying to figure out where the hell he is. In any case, I wouldn't touch any rodent bare handed. They have some vicious chompers, that may not deal death, but hurt like hell when you get bit.
