And HBO keeps playing it over and over and over.

I'm getting Starz damnit. HBO (Home Box Office), no longer show movies. Just comedy specials and garbage like "The Wire". Of course I give them credit for the Soprano's and the Comedy, but I pay for movie channels to get good movies damnit!

And yes the only people who saw Gigli where the ones who wanted to see how really bad it was.

I respectfully disagree on the summer catch hating if only because jessica biel was in it.

This movie so far as made about $5.5 million. Its production budget alone was $55 Million, which I believe does not include its marketing budget.

I sincerely hope that taking it up the ass dissuades the studios from making these horrible romantic comedy popcorn flicks.

I was just about to say that, who in their right mind would ever make a sequel? They might as well donate that money they are going to waste on that piece of garbage.

For its second weekend, Gigli comes out to about $102 PER THEATER PER DAY for the weekend. Factor in multiple screens and multiple showings (IE. 12:10, 1:40, etc.) and $8 tickets and your looking at about 0-1 people watching each showing. This movie got pwned!
Not QUITE that bad, but close.

Rottentomatoes has Gigli making $700 000 over the weekend, on 2215 screens.
That gives us $316 per screen. Ticket price of $8 average works out to about 39 people.
Figure that most theaters only show a movie a max of 4 times per day (Which theaters around here do, except for BIG hits and LONG movies), (which is rather an overestimate as it's down to 1-2 showings in a lot of places), you still get 9-10 people per show. Of course that's on a weekend.

And only a second week of release. And that was a record. I think Hulk came close, or set it, before with a 73% or something plummet.

So, yeah, Gigli got pwned, just not as bad as you said :p

lol. The press really attacked Giglie before its release and i bet nobody wanted to be caught dead seeing that movie.

But yeah, that's one horrible rating. I can't believe it beat:

Booty Call
Kazaam
Glitter
That Britney Spears movie

10 Santa with Muscles (1996) 1.9 (1753 votes)

14 Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) 2.2 (1234 votes)

Man, Santa, gets it twice.

BTW, how does "Dude, Where's My Car" NOT make this list. Worst Movie Ever!

Wears Ballistic on that list?
88? That was easily the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It deserves worse.

they broke up? link?

My mistake. I heard it on Bob & Tom the other day, but apparently they decided not to call things off. Looks like Ben gets to be her b!tch for a while, though.

That may have been a bad movie, but at least it was funny.

Kind of.

Not that it makes a big difference, but I believe the actual numbers are as follows:

During it's second week in release, it made $678,640. Per theatre, that is $306. Total gross now stands at $5,660,084 ending 8/10/03. So, $678,640 by 7 days is $96948.57. And that per theatre (2,215) is $43.77 per day. What a bomb.

Wrong. $316 per theater, PER DAY. Divide that total by three days--friday, saturday and sunday--and you'll get $105 a day. Also, its not 2215 screens, its 2215 THEATERS. Some may be showing it on more than one screen.
