there arent going to be planes in GTA4?!!?

You get a helicopter but no planes. Seriously, you're in Liberty (NY) City. You don't really see planes there anyway outside of Laguardia or whatever.
 

It's a fake New York -- so maybe planes would be in bad taste because of 9/11. The map is smaller so flying a plane may not be feasable because they are too fast. Thirdly I remember reading an article and R* was saying that new york is more of a helicopter city.
 
No offense but planes were always kind of bonus content anyways. If this means more variety, attention to detail, and control in the land based vehicles then I'm all for it.
 
Even if there were planes, I don't think I would ever use them. It's not like it's going to be as big a map as San Andreas.

Although a little Cessna would be cool.
 
Plane missions where a PITA but it sure was fun as heck to cruise around from city to city in a plane in San Andreas. Sadly, in many ways, it looks GTA4 is a step back from San Andreas.

.... Have you played it? Are you privy to info that most people are not? Wait till it comes out before you start throwing wild statements like that around.
 
i actually really enjoyed the planes, thats why i asked. i dont really care how much smaller the city is (which sucks, but i understand why they did it), i still want planes. 🙁 to me it was a pretty big part of SA.
 
They never announce a PC version but always release it six months later.. I ended up playing GTA3, VC ans SA on PC.. This will be the first time I am playing it in console..

Hold the flame truck back up. I never said it would be bad or anything, just that a lot of cool features in SA will not make it to GTA4 like planes, a giant three city/one country side map, activity based upgrades of your character.
