People who sayFoxNews is "fair and balanced" fall into three general categories:

1)Those people who actually believe FoxNews is "fair and balanced". They are easy prey for propaganda and all hope of ever getting them to believe anything different is hopeless.

2)People who know that FoxNews is biased, but believe in principle with the positions of FoxNews so they say its "fair and balanced". Many hope to convince other people to believe in FoxNews, and therefore in their positions.

3)People who know that FoxNews is biased, but believe all other major media outlets are biased against their positions, and need some excuse as to why people should believe FoxNews over other media outlets.

Just my opinion.

As many of you know, I'm an avid Cowboys fan, and as such I post on a Cowboys forum. We were "discussing" (if you can call a political talk with Texans that) the debate. One guy cited a conservative source as proof that Palin DESTROYED in the debate. I cited CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and Slate, all pointing to Biden victories. He said ALL OF THEM but FoxNews (and I would have posted their results, but they didn't even have a poll...hmmm, curious), are horrible and biased. Went as far as to call CNN the "communist news network".

Amazing. They actually think everything BUT Fox is biased.

And guess what the one type of person who think CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC are fair and neutral?

When you dont acknowledge obvious bias, even when that bias is in favor of your beliefs, you discredit yourself.

I understand that there is bias in the media - however, to say that EVERYTHING THAT ISNT FOXNEWS is 100% liberal biased, and that Foxnews is unbiased?

That's just ignorance, there is no other way to slice it.

I would say Fox news is more center then the majority, yes they do lean to the right. They at least at max 60/40.

The problem with NBC, CBS, ABC is that they lean much further to the left and thus becomes unbalanced. I would say these folks are 80/20 left and that is why the majority of people are sick and tired of them.

Isn't NBC losing money every day?

If a network opened in a cannibal society and it allowed people on who suggested eating people just might be wrong - all the die hard cannibals would then see it as unfair and want to shut it down. Libs are like the cannibals - they are always ranting about free speech for terrorists and porn merchants etc but Fox news they want to shut out. It's a psychological/character issue more than a politcal one. Libs want to believe the deterioration of civilization they are leading is really an elevator going up instead of down. Fox isn't even that conservative tbh.

Democrats are a potential threat to media consolidation if they start listening to the people.

So you're on board with Butterbean. Two peas, or in this case beans, in a pod.

Ain't it funny when you've got a "handful" of networks plumbing liberal agenda, yet when ONE semi-right network climbs in ratings, it induces the same kind of criticism that the left claims they are unjustly receiving themselves?

:p

Can you imagine if the #'s were reversed??

It's no wonder the advertising for "American Carol" I hear on the radio starts with, "It's almost illegal to make a right-wing movie in Hollywood........."

One right-wing movie w/ enough of a star studded cast to actually get some viewers & Hollywood's on its ear.

You must have missed Buggerbean's post above.

FWIW, I don't think Fox's straight news programs are all that bad; when it comes to any editorial content, however:

Just my opinion.

You have just scratched the surface, there many layers to go before we hit bottom.

4)people who are suspicious of the fact that the right side of the body is controlled by the left side of the brain.

5)people who have their left nut removed so their children will absolutely not inherit any leftish tendencies.

This a slippery slope we are on here, so let's make the most of it.:D
