its 9.30 here.. usually there are like 600 people on at least.
 
I'm on 3 too. its Hella fast (so this is what subscribers experience!)

it doesnt matter if the primary is down, all traffic should be directed towards the remaining.

perhaps something is wrong with the load balancer? I seem to recall Anand making his own.
 
As has been reported in GH and FI, a load balancer has been having issues (apparently due to the wonderful hard drive engineering of IBM)

i just tried going back to subscriber.anandtech and it was really slow, timed out, didnt work--- and things aren't picking up in this forum.. i'm not sure where the 200 people that are logged on came from.

I was getting the same
 
Traceroutes to forums.anandtech.com & subscriber.anandtech.com during the outage timed out within the network of AT's web host. So it was definitely a problem on their end, whether "they" is AT or their web host I don't know.
