When someone writes "I tend to hold someone to there words."

Is there correct or am I correct to think its their?
 
Thought so..too bad its with a girl...and if I showed her the thread, I think she'd get pissed. 🙁
 
This is another grammar pet peeve of mine and probably the most misused three words in the English language (EVEN FOR PEOPLE WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH!!!).

Their is correct.

Their is possesive (their furniture)
There is referring to a place (over there)
They're is short for They Are
