When someone writes "I tend to hold someone to there words."

Is there correct or am I correct to think its their?

This is another grammar pet peeve of mine and probably the most misused three words in the English language (EVEN FOR PEOPLE WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH!!!).

Their is correct.

Their is possesive (their furniture)
There is referring to a place (over there)
They're is short for They Are
