It seems pretty clear from watching the video that he was just being a jackass because that's who he is. I doubt he believes in climate change anyway so his way to sticking it to people is to being a twat about it.

This is a good point. Trump is the king of dbags now. But, in fairness, the only reason he can exist is because he is the creation of many many years of GOP dbags, of which many were from the south.
