for men who do evil do not like the light of day, it exposes them as to who they really are.

That was funny, right?

I believe that when we die, everything that is our consciousness dissipates, and that there is no heaven, nor hell, nor "afterlife" of any sort. I don't want to believe that, for I would love to live forever in some form, but believe it I do.

Atheist.
I believe in the concepts of Heaven and Hell in a way.
And that we can have both on Earth.
Obviously Heaven is where everything is the best it can be, and Hell is where everything is bad. These situations can exist.
People say "I'm in Heaven" often, of "such and such a thing would be Hell" (maybe prison/persecution/torture etc), so obviously there can be Heaven and Hell. But I don't believe in them as religious "entities" ie: Where you go and see God/Jesus or Lucifer.

I don't see how anyone can jump to a conclusion either way, it's metaphysical. The best one can do is say "this seems the most likely, because..."

Reading a book and subscribing to several thousand years worth of "No I've never actually witnessed any proof, but I read about this guy who did..." does not seem like a very reasonable approach to life.
