I don't live in a bad area. My roommates and I were all shocked. She drives a humble Honda Accord 09 black coupe.

-Only one was stolen. Looks like they ran out of time or their cover was blown.
-Called the police to file the report
-OEM wheel & rim cost $770 so she paid $500 deductible for it. Her insurance doesn't go up. Fucking $500 expense out of nowhere. I felt bad and offered to pay half.
-Installed wheel locks.

Office was polite and took the report. Of course they'll probably do nothing for this specific case. She did mention there has been a wave of wheel thievery going on in the recent and says "Not our proudest moment."

I live a upper middle class suburbs outside of Boston.

edit: "OEM wheel and rim"? does honda make them in separate pieces?

Why? I heard that car parts can be torn down and sold for more then the vehicle itself when done right.


Of course her insurance didn't go up, it's already up because it's on a Honda =D
