Just as tricky Dick loved dirty politics, some republicans are gearing up for a new round. Right out of the Richard Nixon dirty tricks play book.
This one is about a group called Acorn.
Acorn?
Acorn was started to help people help themselves in poor minority neighborhoods.
A virgin-like organization that let most anyone use Acorn?s utilities to then go out
in you own neighborhood and sign up new voters. Mostly minorities, poor and elderly. The new voters that usually don?t vote simply because they do not have the gas or ability to go and register or get to the polls.
Say if you lived in a poor minority neighborhood and wanted to somehow get your
elderly, poor, minority residents signed up to exercise their right to vote,
then you might ask Acorn for help with this goal.
Hear is where it gets Tricky Dick nasty...
Some republicans, the Karl Rove type, the type that tried to stop minorities from voting
in Florida in 2000 and 2004. These slime bags found they could "USE" Acorn to attempt
derailing the attempt to get more minority poor voters registered. And then out to vote.
Something the Karl Rove republicans were terrified about happening, minorities voting.
So it was easy for these tricky Dick-sters to use Acorn to attempt to register ?unqualified? voters, non existent voters, and thus taint Acorn as some type of ill legit organization.
To shut it down.
We'll, they are at it again in trying to do two things:
One, get some Karl Rove crony in there to commit fraud registering voters.
Two, attempt to connect Obama's campaign to Acorn?s fraud.
This is possibly as bad as it gets. And shows just how low some republicans will go,
the extent they will go, to play dirty tricks just like those of Richard Nixon.
Acorns problem is they are too easy. Their simple goal is to help and allow a simple Joe
like you and me get poor qualified minority and elderly voters registered. And to the polls.
And if CNN's Lou Dobbs would get his head out of his ass, he would do his homework
and report this truthfully. But he, as we know, hates minorities, especially LEGAL ones.
