Their Blood Cries Out (book)

By Paul Marshall

In Sudan Christians are enslaved. In Iran they are assassinated. In Cuba they are imprisoned. In China they are beaten to death.

In more than 60 countries worldwide, Christians are harassed, abused, arrested, tortured or executed specifically because of their faith.

200,000,000 Christians throughout the world live in daily fear of secret police, vigilantes, or state repression and discrimination.

These are not wild rumors. Nor are these simply Christians who, like so many others, suffer from war or tyranny. Hundreds of millions of Christians are suffering simply because of what they believe.

Yet this book also offers hope, in detailing what can and must be done by individuals and organizations to help these brothers and sisters in Christ.

Author Paul Marshall, a senior fellow at the Center for Religious Freedom at Freedom House, is widely regarded as one of the world's leading authorities on religious persecution. Reading his book is particularly important now, to understand better the Islamic world in which much of today's Christian persecution is occurring.

?This is a gripping and eloquent book. The murder, torture, and persecution of Christians in the Third World, and even prosperous countries, is one of the worst, and least-reported, of global human-rights abuses ? From China to Saudi Arabia to Cuba, thousands of Christians have paid a terrible price for their faith." -David Aikman, former senior correspondent and Beijing bureau chief, Time magazine

"'Their Blood Cries Out' is a towering exposition of the history, causes and realities of today's anti-Christian pogroms ? Written with a rare combination of balance and passion, it will provoke needed debate within the American Christian community, open skeptical minds to the truth of today's persecutions, and sear the consciences of us all." - Michael Horowitz, Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute

Softcover. 336 pages.

Wonder when this will happen in the US, led by the ACLU Taliban.

In the US, the Taliban are using bullying tactics to remove Christianity from the public square. How long before outright persecution follows?

May 02, 2001 - Buddha Statues Completely Destroyed by Taliban
In a display of extreme prejudice against the Hazara people the Taliban have destroyed two of the world's tallest ancient statues of Buddha in Bamyan, Afghanistan. Bamyan is the center and heart of Hazarajat region inhabited by the Hazara people since the 11th century and maybe earlier

The Taliban leaders issued a religious edict deeming the two of the World's tallest Buddha Statues, which are carved into a mountain, as non-Islamic and ordered their destruction. The Taliban are supported by their masters - the Pakistan army and Saudi Royal family.

Islamic scholars all over the world have condemned this decision and act of barbarism. The 2000 year old Buddha Statues were believed to have been carved during the time of the Kushan dynasty which are believed to be the ancestors of the Hazara tribe that inhabits Bamyan, the heart of Hazarajat region.

How is this any different from the ACLU using it's bullying tactics to remove Christian symbols? The only difference is the ACLU uses threats of costly litigation, and the Taliban uses bombs.

That has nothing to do with the US. The only taliban here is Ashcroft and the religious right who want to impose their very skewed version of christianity on the rest of the population. Your mischaracterization of the ACLU (of which I am a PROUD CARD CARRYING MEMBER) is disgusting, but not suprising.

So, how is the Taliban any different from the ACLU as both are in favor of removing religious symbols from the public square?

What was your point? Support the ACLU or end up like Iran?

this is the USA they are free to belive what they like.

oh poor us....

every group in history has been persecuted. thinking of what the christians did to the native american and not feeling much sympathy for you.

How much did you cry out when US-funded and trained death squads were executing preists and nuns in South and Central America?

This is totally pathetic. Every religion is persecuted around the world, not just christians. Ever been to France lately?? it seems like France is every bit is hostile to jews these days as germany in 1938, minus the death camps.

As for christians living in fear in the US?? total bs on your part

most of our elected officials are christian and the people that hold power are also christian, so I dont buy your theory at all. The ACLU is not a anti-christian org., it simply defends civil liberties -- for the most part

Hi,

If this is the standard of the anti-secular debate, then those who wish separation of church and state to be unambiguous need not worry.

Cheers,

Andy
