i recently moved in the ghetto and just had my first vandlism incident last night. well actually, my bro did. i park in the garage so i'm safe usually. he parked in front of the house on the street last night instead of the backyard(with a fence). his cd player was stolen from his truck during the night. he "said" he locked it but who knows, no windows were broken so they either have a key(doubtful) or he just forgot to lock it.

we got some security signs/stickers put all around the house even though we don't have a security system(we're renting the house) but i just was curious if there were any other tactics/ideas any of you use to scare of thiefs/robbers.

we have neighbors who are old and very nice, usually there during the day but like i said, i live in the ghetto and there are quite a few punk ass teenagers walking around frequently. the house we live in is AWESOME, very nice, about an acre in space in the backyard, huge ass patio with 2 ceiling fans, etc. we only pay 450/ month including utilities.

just wondering what some of you guys do to try to prevent theft.

like i said, it's a REALLY nice place for the money. only drawback is that it's in the ghetto. actually it's right beside a 4 lane highway but a few streets down is the ghetto. i only have 2 neighbors and they are very nice old people. i'll take pics since i just got net the other day.

moving out is an option but only if it gets bad, we haven't had any problems other than stupidity(i'm assuming). his cd player could have been stolen anywhere.

don't want a big dog, still have mine at the house.

nah, i live in arkansas. some places around here are just 450 for rent alone but we just got a killer deal.

i'll post pics tonight, i love the place. the back porch is the best part imo.
 
Gun/bullets/relocate would be my first choices.
Bear traps would be nice. An electric fence, heat seeking missiles and a rabid dog would be helpful.
Crazy eyes are a nice deterrent.
 
If you don't want a dog to patrol the perimeter, can't afford a security system, and aren't going to sleep outside all night with a gun or bat, then move.

Either that or snatch up one of the local punks and hang him from the tree in the front yard as a message.
