According to the “official” Motorola Twitter account, the XOOM will come packed with a “unlockable/relockable bootloader” that gives developers access to hardware for development. Yes, you are reading that correctly.

Hmm, that WiFi only version thats in the pipeline just got much more tempting. Still not sure about that whole data plan activation thing for WiFi though, more details will probably follow on that.

It's no surprise -- this is Google's Honeycomb flagship, just as the Droid was for Eclair. No coincidence they're the two open Moto Androids.

Doesn't mean every future Moto device won't continue to be locked down tight.

I am so excited for the Xoom to be released so all the Honeycomb goodies can be ripped off the Xoom and shoved onto my Nook Color!!!
