The Xbox Blue?

... for the Xbox 3 name?

The next Windows OS is rumored to be called Windows Blue and will be updated yearly on a subscription model, hence it (possibly) being the final 'major' Windows OS release, and one might suppose it will come equipped with it's own particular shade of blue logo.

Seems a natural name to give the Xbox 3 sharing that same shade of blue, and a natural lead in to the Apple iPad model of keeping the same name for new models. The two 'big' Microsoft brands they've decided to go with, Windows and Xbox > Windows Blue and Xbox Blue > permanent brands.

So the fourth generation Xbox would still be called the Xbox Blue.

Seems logical.
 
Windows Blue is the codename. The next Windows update will supposedly keep the Windows 8 name. I am not expecting the next console to be name Xbox Blue.

Microsoft seems terrible with branding, so I'm sure whatever they pick, it won't be good. But fortunately it just needs to sound cooler than "Wii U". 🙂
