damn it, they should've inject pheonix with the 'cure' too instead of killing her.

Yeah I thought the same thing too. I mean there were plenty of those darts laying around. Kinda stupid to kill her when there's an alternative.

I was hoping they would use the boy (aka leech) to stop Jean since no mutants can use their powers within his presence.

Edit: I just had a silly/dirty thought. That same boy could be a solution for Rogue and Iceman if they want to get it on. That way Rogue won't have to lose her powers permanently.

I doubt they could have gotten him close enough. Logan was able to reach her only because of his healing factor.

I interpretted the last scene as Magento getting his powers back (playing with a metal chess set and he starts to make one of the pieces quiver?).

That part ISN'T about Magneto still have power?

Wait, so in the last scene, does Magneto have his powers back? Or is he playing chess against the spirit and mind of Xavier?

I think it's both. If you remember the pieces the one that moved was from Magneto's side, and it move in conjunction with his finger moving, so I believe he did use his powers there.

It also sounds like Charles was there with him.

As for Psylocke, I missed that. Where was she?

Son of Bitch! I thought for sure there wouldn't be anything after the credits, and I almost always stay to see, just in case, but didn't this time.

Apparently, somewhere in the moshpit of the final fight. I didn't even realize she was in it either until I looked up the IMDB entry for X3.

There's no need to "resurrect" Jean because she is the phoenix and more or less immortal. In the comic they did resurrect scott at some point, and xavier "died" but then later it turned out it was the fake xavier that was a stand in for xavier when he went out of town or some such crap.

I didn't see the last scene apparently, can someone give a detailed account of it? I don't remember who moira mctaggart was in the film, or rather what her purpose was either.

Moira was Xaxiers long time girlfriend/lover. She was a big help with helping and healing mutants.
Jean Grey was never dead. Phoenix, which is a cosmic force, replicated her body when they were coming back in the spaceship. Jean Grey's body was wrapped in a psychic cocoon so to speak at the bottom of the lake. Alot of the X-Men were cloned at one time or another.
It's a very complicated world.

And then later in the comics she was "killed" multiple times and never really died. And she asked wolverine to kill her at least once and came back.

if you were expecting the movies to be true to the comics then yes, you will be disappointed, if you are just watching it as another action flick, then it was ok.

What a lot of the comic nerds don't understand is the movie isn't made for them, it is made for the general masses, thus the story has to be changed, and the character have to be changed to fit the story, so a broader audience will enjoy the film and pay the $$$ to see it again and to buy the DVD. It's not about appeasing the fanboi, it's about making the $$$

The problem is, they tried to do both, and that's why the third movie kind of sucked. They changed a lot but still seemed strapped down by having to remain true to many characters in ways that made the movie feel like it had a split personality.

Aside from original topic - I think Jean's part in this whole movie was stupid and a horrible waste of time. She ends up being alive, and wipes out Cyclops who only gets a few scenes in. Then she kills Xavier. And at the end, she just starts destroying everything, AFTER the fighting is over. In between all of this, she just STANDS there.

And although that was a good representation of Beast, I thought he better served as a scientist and not as a politician.

Iceman could just wear a condom and gloves, problem solved. They could still kiss, just not for very long.

What is rogue's power? Never read the comic book's and forgot the first movies so I have no idea why the hell she couldn't touch him.

She absorbes other mutants energy, and gaines their abilities. The problem is, a lot of times she can kill the mutant whose energy she is absorbing.

Later on, she gaines a few abilities permanently - like flying and super strength
