Damn, I missed the reference to transfer of consciousness.

I interpretted the last scene as Magento getting his powers back (playing with a metal chess set and he starts to make one of the pieces quiver?).

Then I saw the spoilers, and I was like WTF, Xavier was disintegrated, how the fsck does he have his body back, and how did Moira get it? BUt the spoiler doesn't show the person in the bed's face either...

Different body. Xavier was always about the mind and not the body anyway.

Watch, they'll be making xmen 4 in ten years, and they'll find a way to resurrect jean and cyclops too, and mister sinister will be the new villain, and he will clone jean and cyclops, but then xavier in his new body but looking the same as the old body through plastic surgery (so patrick stewart can still play him) will use his powers to get them back to his side, and magneto (with his regained powers) will join forces with the xmen after he realizes that omfg xavier was right all along, and they will all combine together to fight sinister.
And wth, all that crap with archangel, and his whole role in that movie was to save his father from being thrown off the edge, wtf what a waste of a char. Magneto's henchmen tried to throw him off, wtf, when they all had powers that could've just pwned him, spiny boy for one.
And jean grey, they gave her like fifty asshats of screen time, and at the end there was no development at all of her besides having a dual personality and going apesh*t on the island, gfg.
And kitty pryde had all these moments to use her power and be significant to the movie, but cyclops just got pwned after like 15 mins into the movie? Okay.
And psylocke, totally wasted, wtf, they made a telepathic ninja into some asian chick street punk who had no lines and got disintegrated by phoenix at the end, uh yea ok.

Hah...I didn't even notice psylocke was in there.

I think Colossus got the biggest shaft of them all. He was nothing more than the good-guy thug muscle.

actually, he's still just Angel at this point. it isn't until he gets his steel wings etc that he becomes Archangel. ;)

if you were expecting the movies to be true to the comics then yes, you will be disappointed, if you are just watching it as another action flick, then it was ok.

I think the original X Men toons in the 90's are better. Better story and logic.

BTW, how true to the comics the toons were?

they couldnt. she disintegrated all of the little needles.

also, what was so special about jean? what exactly did she have the power to do? i saw the movie, but i dont know what her special ability was...like magneto could manipulate metal, wolverine and his regen, but jean seemed to be able to do anything she wanted. could she breathe fire? make ice like iceman? turn into steel like tinman? little help here...

IIRC, Jean has similar power to Professor X but even stronger. Her mind is strong but she couldn't control her power as well as Professor X would. Comics gurus correct me if I am wrong.

On top of having power similar to Professor X (telepathy) Jean had an almost unlimited telekinetic ability (ie throw sh!t around and disintegrate sh!t).

Alot truer than the movies. Well, except for X-Men:Evolution.

There's no need to "resurrect" Jean because she is the phoenix and more or less immortal. In the comic they did resurrect scott at some point, and xavier "died" but then later it turned out it was the fake xavier that was a stand in for xavier when he went out of town or some such crap.

I didn't see the last scene apparently, can someone give a detailed account of it? I don't remember who moira mctaggart was in the film, or rather what her purpose was either.

Moira was Xaxiers long time girlfriend/lover. She was a big help with helping and healing mutants.
Jean Grey was never dead. Phoenix, which is a cosmic force, replicated her body when they were coming back in the spaceship. Jean Grey's body was wrapped in a psychic cocoon so to speak at the bottom of the lake. Alot of the X-Men were cloned at one time or another.
It's a very complicated world.

I think phoenix is coming back, because in the main comic books the phoenix can never be killed she is a central character of the Xmen

I was kinda hoping they would bring Gambit back.... he is such a cool character

IIRC, Moira McTaggart runs the mutant research facility on Muir Island. At the beginning of the movie, Xavier was teaching a class of students about ethics and he showed a video of a person in a vegetative state that was on life support. The last scene just showed Moira standing over that guy's bed when she hears Charles Xavier's voice say "Hello Moira". The implication being that before he died, he transferred his psyche into this guy.

Different body. Xavier was always about the mind and not the body anyway.

Yeah, but without the mutant gene present in his destroyed body isn't he just a really smart guy in a hospital bed?

Yeah I thought the same thing too. I mean there were plenty of those darts laying around. Kinda stupid to kill her when there's an alternative.
