The worst western movie ever made?

I stumbled upon a total piece of crap this evening. It is called ‘A Cold Day In Hell’ and this may qualify as the worst movie ever made quite frankly. I defy anyone to watch this movie and find anything good about it.

Mods, please move this to OT.

Shane was a masterpiece compared to this steaming pile of crap.
Shane was okay I guess except for the kid. He had to be the ugliest child to ever distress a mother's pelvis. If eugenics hadn't already been invented, the birth of that kid would have sparked the movement.

Most westerns suck. Most movies suck. I grew up thinking that just about any movie I might see is just a retread, why bother. I was sometimes pleasantly surprised to be wrong. I had a friend who would drag me to cinephile faire. There are some good westerns, but myself, I would have to say they number less than 20. Many highly touted westerns are terrible IMO. I can't watch anything with John Wayne in it, not so far.

Watched the trailer on IMDB. Looks like general bad cinematography, bad writing, bad editing, bad acting... Kinda surprised to hear a musical score.

That said, Michael Madsen was great in The Hateful Eight. Divisive movie, but it's my favorite Quentin Tarantino film by a huge margin.

I figured the director had to be a family member of his or something. Either that or he owed the guy money.

The cinematography is horrible. Close ups that take up half the screen and cut off the top of the head and part of the actors mouth. The writing just as bad, my son and I were watching it and cracking jokes about how bad this film is (MST3K style) but we eventually tired of that and turned it off.

I defy anyone to get through this movie.

I was flipping channels yesterday and I came across The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly as it was just starting and watched the whole thing. So I'm pretty high on westerns right now.

That is such a masterpiece.

The worst? I don't think I've watched any horrible westerns in my life. I take them for what they are, even the bad ones.

Blazing Saddles? There's a fine line between best and worst when it comes to comedy. The ending didn't make a lot of sense to me.

idk if it exactly counts as a western, but my favorite is probably "jeremiah johnson"

I was going to watch this but Sling, Prime, VUDU, Google all want 3-4 dolllars to watch this. Jules, did you pay to watch this?

My favorite western is Unforgiven, but Jeremiah Johnson and Mountain Men both qualify highly in the same genre for me, and are nearly as good.

The worst? Hard to say, Cowboys and Aliens is a strong contender, does Shanghai Noon count?

Django was ok, watching Leo lose his shit and go improv was cool.

Technically, I guess I did since it was on a channel I pay extra for. It was HDNET movies or MGMHD or one of those channels. But no, I wouldn’t pay ten cents to see this movie and I can’t imagine it did anything but go straight to dvd upon release.
