My mom's boyfriend wanted to buy a Dodge Magnum. So he went into the dealer and said:

"I don't have time to shop around. So just give me a good deal on this car and I'll buy it."

Sure enough, he paid $1000 over MSRP.

EDIT: $1000 over MSRP AND he was paying in cash.

You're right, that's probably the worst thing to say to a car salesman. The one I had in mind was "I just HAVE to have that car! Is there any way to get it for $400 a month?"

I love idiots like this fool. He's so stupid I could slap him with a large trout. Its people like him who will be keeping people like me in business in years to come
 
Just curious, are Dodge Magnums (assuming it's an SRT or something) sell below MSRP right now? I think they're fairly popular...

Just saying, not arguing. He may not have gotten a great deal by shopping around, but, surely he could have done better by spending some time or using one of the many fleet purchase deals on the web.
 
Magnums are not as popular as the 300. I could see the 300 going for more than MSRP right now.

I think that buying a new car is the worst thing to do. Especially a Chrysler. I am a Mopar fan at heart, but as with all true Mopar fans, you can't buy the car new. Chryslers have some of the worst depreciation in the industry. You have to buy a used Chrysler and let some fool take the initial depreciation hit.
