Actually, I hate the corporate structure. I think its amazingly ineffecient, especially meetings and such.
I wish I had the power to say no to some of these vendors. Sadly being an on site consultant I don't have that power. The company I'm on site with sets these things up. Most of the time they come about because the CIO read something from Gartner or in a magazine. I refuse to let a vendor come in to demo a product before sending me the literature first. I've actually had two or three of them refuse, using the excuse that no brochure can truly communicate what the product is/does. And they are shocked when I just tell them never mind, I'm not interested then. They just assume I'll tell them it's OK to come in.
I have sat through too many demos of some POS product that I have no idea what it is, what it's for, or why I would want it.
They said synergy, win-win, and proactive all those times, and not one robust or collaborative?
