LOL, if its the fastest "gaming" PC it is automatically deemed "fastest PC"... lets conveniently forget dual processor PCs, of which even Apple provides...sure not as fast for games but I guess when we consider "fastest PC" its only gaming that counts.
multiple cpu's dont increase the speed of system. they just allow for better multi-tasking, so technically, they help the system perform better, not faster.
Exactly, broadbandwidth is no faster than dialup, you're still connected at the speed of light now aren't we? But that's the thing, if you can get more work done quicker, well then I'd have to say the computer is "faster"
That and there are some programs that can make use of 2+ CPUs.
Not sure what you're trying to do here by saying this. 2 GPUs let you have about 2x the FPS, but 2CPUs would let you divide up your work and do more faster...ultimately you have a faster computer...
The only reason I mentioned Apple is because there's a fine line between PC and a server or super computer, but Apple has offered 2xCPU Apple PCs for quite a while (mostly to keep up with clearly faster sinlge CPU intel or AMD solutions), but now they have 2 x 2.5GHz G5s which makes for a mean system. Granted a 2 x 2.4GHz AMD Opteron rig or a 2 x 3.6GHz Intel Xeon make for mean systems as well, each of which could surely outpace a single Athlon 64 FX55 in a working environment, not to forget the FX55 doesn't have THAT much of an advantage over a 2.4GHz Opteron in gaming.
I guess you could argue that you could OC a single CPU system far more agressively than you can a dual CPU system.
I guess I was just trying to hammer home a point that they claim the fastest PC based solely on the fact that it has SLI... whereas for $6000 a pop I'm sure some company could throw together a FX55 system with phase change cooling and offer more ram and faster HD arrays and throw in a simple 2D card and I'd have to claim it faster than the VoodooPC simply because it would be faster in everything except gaming...
Granted because I'm a gamer I'd want the SLI, however if I needed it do actually do some computing and not gaming then the VoodooPC SLI really doesn't offer me much now does it?
