Is the word MUSE familiar to you?

Without looking it up please post your definition or a synonym.

I am considering using muse in a domain name - thanks for your input!

As a verb, to ponder. As a noun, nymphs (primarily in Greek and Roman mythology, IIRC) responsible for artistic inspiration.

This. Source of the word "museum" as well. ("temple of the Muses").

Those are my definitions, too. I usually think of it in the artistic inspiration sense.

For instance, Scarlett Johannason is obviously Woody Allen's muse.

Nicely done.

I'm full of many things. Definitions and general knowledge are one of them.

thanks all, does anyone see the less popular definiton, to wonder, and synonym "to play around with" as fitting?

I don't keep score, but I've read at least a couple of thousand books.

I can't recall ever seeing muse used that way, in the verb form it has always been as serious or wistful reflection rather than as playful thought.

Verb: To ponder/think about, to look for inspiration
Noun: In roman (greek?) mythology, a woman who acts as a source of inspiration, often in a divine role.

thanks dave, it probably wouldn't be a proper fit for my domain then

so hard to get a good domain name these days - have to try less known, obscure words sometimes

That's ok, you still said "couple of thousand..."

That was intentional . I try to speak and write informally to fit in better (gooder? 😉 ) with others.

That's damn near exactly what I was going to post.

What just went down with your friends over there? It doesn't really take a Muse to inspire horny retards to empty their wallets.

Muse is me... I am The Muse! 😀

Of course, a word like Muse is going to be unavailable as a domain name unless you muse a bit, i.e. get creative with a prefix or suffix or such. You can probably come up with something nifty.

I've seen it used pretty often to describe pondering something with a wry or slightly amused attitude. When I see it used like that I imagine someone staring off into the distance with a half-smile on their face.
