I was hoping for something similar to Wall Street from 1987 or even the half hearted remake in 2010. Heck there was was even a decent story about penny stock pump-n-dump scam artists named "Boiler Room" from 2001.

They skipped over technical details that makes a movie like that exiting. He said over and over "you dont know what I just said" or "you dont know what Im talking about" as if the viewer has the brains of a grade school dropout or watches Sponebob all day and just wants to see naked women and drug fantasies.

Just a two bit trashy movie that could have been worlds better. Make be BELIEVE you guys no what you are talking about. Make me exited. Dont show me a bunch of fancy things and think you can impress me that way. That crap is everywhere. I dont care. The sex and drugs are also everywhere.

Tell me a good story with good believable details and Ill enjoy it.

But The Wolf of Wall Street was just not even a good story. Yes, there were some funny moments but it was too much garbage.

Sorry. :|

With your history of flagging everything you have deemed inappropriate, I somehow don't trust your opinion.

If I could flag that movie and have it removed from theaters, you can bet I would have. It was unnecessarily over the top for drugs, sex and stupidity.

Ironically, Boiler Room was based on Stratton Oakmont.

Interesting, I did not know that. Boiler Room was ok, not a great movie. I thought The Wolf of Wall Street was a pretty solid comedy.

How do you not understand that the craziness was NOTjust for the sake of shock value? It was to really get it to the viewer that these guys were fucked up and to the extreme. I guess it went over your head.

Was a pretty good movie. I said to my friend that it makes me want to go out and do some blow

My understanding was that this was to illustrate just how fucking absurd that life is... and the fact that nothing has changes. Still a bunch of overprivileged thrill junkies gambling with the world economy.

The fact that the OP didn't like it makes me assume it's great as the OP has literally never had a correct opinion on anything ever.

The movie is worth watching just to see Margot Robbie naked.

Thats what my brother said. He was a fan of My Name is Earl - I never saw it more than once.

Ok, ok I get it. Some people like it over the top like that. HOWEVER they skipped over technical details that makes a movie like that exiting. I didn't have high hopes for the titular movie. But I'll probably watch it eventually because DiCaprio just doesn't seem to take part in shit scripts. Gotta be something redeeming in it, I think.

Boiler Room was fucking great, I thought. Sure, it could've been better...but it's a rare film that makes you just think 'that was perfect.' Ribisi (or however that's spelled) did a great job as the lead in that flick, and I was entertained. Better than I can say for most the over-hyped, over-awarded crap that constitutes 'good movies' anymore.
